KToolBox

Author: Kovu | Date: Jan 26 2009

KToolBox (short: KTB) stands for "Kovu's ToolBox". It is a window environment I wrote for running smaller desktop tools, which aren't worth to be implemented in other software, but still are nice to have. Its job is to prepare an environment with all plugins and GTK dialogs needed by those tools, hence it's a standard I defined for saving me the time I'd normally have to invest in developing a proper frontend for the user.
Tools Included in The Base Package

While its primary purpose is to serve as a window environment to which you can add plugins and tools distributed by me, typically for non-public projects, KTB comes with a set of publicly available tools:

  • KDateTool 2.0
    (Convert dates and unix timestamps)

  • Kmd5 Due
    (Convert a string to md5)

  • KopyDirTree
(Make a clean copy of a directory tree [without files])

  • Keol
(End of line character conversion tool [Unix/Windows])

  • kxBase
(X-Files/dBase file converter, requires X-Files 3 plugin, which isn't available to the public: project partners only)

  • SKreen
    (Take a screenshot)

  • KPrinter
(Linux & Windows: perform a trivial print job [text file, string or postscript] through my printer plugin. {Requires Ghostscript and PrintFile on Windows!})

  • KPrintCoord
(Windows only: print a map with coordinates for placing objects on a paper... only for PHP's Windows-Printer functions!)
